Maintaining & caring for your wardrobe

Wardrobes don't require a lot of fuss when it comes to cleaning, but a regular clean and vacuum will ensure you get years of reliable service. 

Cleaning wardrobe doors

Keeping your wardrobe doors clean is as simple as wiping over with a soft damp cloth.  If you have stubborn marks, use a mild detergent and water solution to help remove.

For regular cleaning of wardrobe doors with a pattern or a texture, wipe down with a soft damp cloth and a solution of water with a minimal amount of a mild detergent.  If you have stubborn marks that won't come off using this method, try using a very soft-bristled brush in place of the cloth and this should help to remove. 

A few important things to avoid:

• Never clean too intensely or for too long in the one area  
• Don't use scourers or other abrasive cleaning items
• Do not use solvents or harsh detergents, bleaches, rough, gritty, highly acidic, alkaline or abrasive cleaners

Adjusting your doors

If necessary adjust the sliding wardrobe door rollers to raise the sliding door. This will help to provide clearance between the door and the sill/track.

Cleaning the inside of your wardrobe 

Wipe down using a damp soft cloth with warm soapy water, and dry by wiping down with a soft or microfibre cloth so as not to leave any residue on the door or panel. 

For more stubborn stains, use a good quality streak-free glass cleaner as per the manufacturer’s recommendation.  You may also use methylated spirits on a soft cloth, using a circular cleaning motion being careful not to rub too hard.  Wipe down using a damp soft cloth containing warm, soapy water, followed by drying using a soft or microfibre cloth so as not to leave any residue on the panel.

Hardware 

To clean hardware such as hinges and handles, use a mild detergent and warm water. Wash hardware, then rinse with clean, warm water.  Do not use any substances with abrasives.
